Morgan Stanley plans to add cryptocurrency trading on its E*Trade platform, which would be the most significant step taken by major banks in the USA to help ordinary customers invest in such assets since the Trump administration began to remove regulatory barriers. The plan is still in the early stages, and sources say executives envision launching the service at some point next year. Morgan Stanley is considering partnering with one or more established crypto companies to create a trading mechanism for brokerage clients, allowing them to buy and sell popular cryptos including Bitcoin and Ethereum.
