10baggerbamm OP Ginvest : what I like about this leveraged ETF is they have weekly options. on many leveraged ETFs they are monthly and that's a very long time to lock something up considering how volatile and dynamic the stock market is over the past 100 days.. so the big picture is if you were to just buy it and hold it I think there's a lot of upside but around that upside you can double or triple your total return by selling puts and selling calls. as long as you keep disciplined and sell the puts on down days a couple of dollars outside of the current price and when you have a strong update your long position for the same one week expiration you go out to Friday and you put it about $2 higher or $2.50 higher than the current price you're going to be okay the vast majority of time where you're not going to get put the ETF and your long position isn't going to get called away.
obviously if we have another Major Market sell-off event and it could happen nothing would surprise me or shock me at this point and it shouldn't shock anybody potentially we could retest the lows of where we were a couple of weeks ago. in which case you need to understand you're going to get put the positions that you have sold puts against or you're going to have to buy them back at a loss. I'm not too keen on covering an option for a loss I'd rather accept the underlying index ETF company. because I look at the risk reward I want to own that stock or I want to own that basket of stocks because I believe in the next 30 60 90 days they're significant upside to them so if I do get put I'm fine owning it I might have a little bit of pain there might be some four letter words flying out of my mouth in the short term but it will reverse in the short term as well.
